and supports productive activity in the manner approved by Islam—that is, by conducting all transactions in accordance with the rulings of the Sharia.

Third: The Academy confirms its call upon the governments of Muslim countries to promote banks that operate on the basis of Islamic law and to facilitate their establishment in every Muslim land, so that they may meet the needs of the Muslims and spare them the contradiction between their everyday reality and the demands of their faith.
