its sides, and I was a member of that committee. After we had marked out half of the Sanctuary’s circumference, the work came to a halt, though the intention remains to complete it, God willing. We discovered some old marker stones set up on the mountain slopes that constitute the boundary between the ḥill (the area outside the Sanctuary) and the ḥaram (the Sacred Precinct).
After the foregoing was written, and praise belongs to Allah, the Sanctuary was fully delineated on all sides, and the resolution was submitted to the highest authority in the state for approval and for an order to implement it by placing prominent markers all along the outer limit of the ḥaram. We ask Allah Almighty for success.
Subsequent to that, approval was issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Āl Saʿūd—may Allah grant him success—to erect conspicuous markers around the boundaries of the two Sanctuaries of Mecca and Medina. Implementation will begin soon, God willing, and I am one of the members of the executing committee. We ask Allah, exalted is He, for aid and success.
