in his provision, let him spend from what Allah has given him.” [al-Ṭalāq 65:7]
4 – Manifesting Allah’s favor upon a person is beloved to Allah, for it is a form of gratitude for His blessings; the Exalted said: “But as for the favor of your Lord, proclaim it” (11) [al-Ḍuḥā 93:11].
5 – This narration affirms the attribute of love for Allah in a manner that truly befits His majesty and greatness—without denial and without likening Him to His creation. We affirm the reality of the attribute while consigning its modality to Allah. The same applies to all of His attributes, whether inherent or active. This is the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jamāʿah, by which they are safeguarded from the negation of the muʿaṭṭilīn and the anthropomorphism of the mushabbihīn.
6 – His phrase “upon His servant” indicates two kinds of servitude:
a) A universal servitude that encompasses all creatures; Allah said: “There is none in the heavens and on the earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant” [Maryam 19:93].
b) A special servitude reserved for His believing servants, described in His words: “And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth gently…” [al-Furqān 25:63], and so on to the end of the verses.
