Grading of the ḥadīth
The report is ḥasan (sound) on account of its supporting narrations, among them:

2 – The ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, recorded by Aḥmad (8045) and by al-Bayhaqī in Shuʿab al-Īmān (5/163).
3 – The ḥadīth of Abū al-Aḥwaṣ from his father, recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4063) and al-Nasāʾī (5224). These chains mutually reinforce one another, raising the narration to the level of ḥasan.

3 – As for one whose means are tight, he should not put on the false appearance of the affluent; rather, he should dress, eat, and so forth in proportion to what Allah has granted him—“and whoever has been constrained…"
