The Rāfiḍah are the very root of this falsehood; their association of partners with Allah and their innovations are the most severe, making them the worst faction within the ummah, for the evils of all the other sects have converged in them.
The call to the truth has always been under attack from the enemies of Islam: the disbelievers among the Jews and Christians, the hypocrites, and those whose hearts are diseased. From the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) until Allah inherits the earth and all who are upon it, they remain adversaries of the true daʿwah.
Shaykh Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb’s daʿwah is a continuation of the legacy, scholarship, and mission of Imām Ibn Taymiyyah and his student Ibn al-Qayyim—may Allah have mercy on them all.
For many years—praise be to Allah—no one dared to speak against the call to tawḥīd and the Sunnah. In recent times, however, some of the enemies of this call have launched an unabashed war against it: they have raised their heads, exposed their own disgrace, and revealed the deep-seated hatred concealed in their hearts. We ask Allah to turn their schemes back upon them and to preserve for this land the blessing He has granted it of pure monotheism and adherence to the Sunnah.
This booklet, “Nawāqiḍ al-Islām” (The Nullifiers of Islam), is a brief treatise in which the Shaykh—may Allah have mercy on him—listed ten matters that he called “the nullifiers of Islam.” Several contemporary scholars have undertaken to explain and clarify them (1)—may Allah reward them generously.
The Nawāqiḍ al-Islām are the things that incur disbelief after one has entered Islam, for they nullify a person’s Islam and render him an apostate. Among the jurists, this subject forms an independent chapter within the science of jurisprudence
