has not, in fact, grasped the veritable truth of Islam, which is Allah’s religion in actual reality and in essence—not merely in our own estimation. The expression “in the view of Muslims” might be taken to mean that it is only true from our perspective, whereas something a person deems true may, in fact, prove false. Islam is not like that; rather, it is Allah’s true religion in reality, in essence, and in the view of Muslims—praise be to Allah. Indeed, many among the unbelievers who understand the facts likewise acknowledge this, as has already been noted—they recognize it (1)—yet what prevents them from embracing Islam is arrogance, bigotry, and blind imitation of their forebears.
There is also a contemporary, spurious movement known as the “call to unite the three religions”—Islam, Judaism, and Christianity—which claims that all three are sound religions and that a person incurs no blame if he practices Judaism, Christianity, or Islam.
Such a claim is false and constitutes unbelief, and whoever holds it is an unbeliever, for he rejects Allah and His Messenger. Allah the Exalted says, “They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.’” (Surah al-Ma’idah 5:17). He also says, “They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is one of a trinity.’” (Surah al-Ma’idah 5:73). Concerning the Jews He says, “That is because they used to deny the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right; that was because they disobeyed and transgressed.” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:61). And He, glorified be He, says, “When there came to them what they recognized, they rejected it; so the curse of Allah is upon the unbelievers.” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:89). This applies to the earliest of them and the latest alike.
This movement further implies that the mission of Muhammad ﷺ is not universal to all humanity but—so some Christians claim—merely that he is Allah’s Messenger to the Arabs, and Allah
