Our esteemed brother, Ustadh Zuhayr al-Shawish, refuted him in the treatise al-Tawdih, providing an exemplary rebuttal. By citing passages from my own books that affirm Imam Abu Hanifah’s rightful stature in knowledge and virtue, he laid bare Abu Ghudda’s fabrication and the accusation in question, and demonstrated that it was Abu Ghudda who violated scholarly trust by quoting my words in truncated form.
Whoever wishes to examine the matter in detail may refer to that treatise; it has been published both as a stand-alone booklet and appended to the fourth edition of Sharh al-ʿAqidah al-Tahawiyyah.

When some of the people who steer Abu Ghudda’s actions saw his words, they explained to him that openly accusing al-Albani could expose him to criminal prosecution for calumny. Alarmed, Abu Ghudda removed pages 305–308 and their facing pages 317–320, reprinted them after deleting my name, and substituted the phrase “some detractors…,” forgetting that the marginal note still read: “(1) in Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Daʿifa wa al-Mawduʿa 5:76.”
Anyone who owns a copy of al-Qawaʿid can confirm this by comparing the paper of those pages with the rest of the book and by noticing the many holes in the binding caused by unsewing, resewing, and rebinding the volume.
Further evidence is Abu Ghudda’s total silence about the incident in Kalimatuhu. Had he managed to collect all the earlier copies, he would not have hesitated—true to form—to hurl every possible accusation at the author of al-Tawdih.
وقد رد عليه الأخ الفاضل الأستاذ زهير الشاويش في رسالة: «التوضيح» أحسن ردٍّ بما كشف عن افترائه واتهامه المذكور بالنقل عن كتبي بما يشهد لأبي حنيفة ﵀ بما يستحق من علم وفضل، وأبان بذلك أن «أبو غدة» هو الذي خان الأمانة العلمية حين نقل كلامي مبتورًا.
فليراجع من شاء البيان رسالته المذكورة وهي مطبوعة لوحدها ومع «شرح العقيدة الطحاوية» الطبعة الرابعة.

ولما اطلع بعض الذين يتحرك أبو غدة بأمرهم على كلام أبي غدة أفهموه بأن هذا التصريح باتهام الألباني يعرضك للملاحقة القانونية لدى المحاكم الجزائية، ويحكم عليك بجرم الافتراء! ! فخاف أبو غدة وعمد إلى نزع الصفحات (٣٠٥) و (٣٠٦) و (٣٠٧) و (٣٠٨) وما يقابلها وهي الصفحات (٣١٧) و (٣١٨) و (٣١٩) و (٣٢٠) وأعاد طباعتها بعد حذف اسمي، ووضع مكانها (بعض الشانئين .. ) غافلًا عن التعليق الذي بقي مطبوعًا وهو «(١) في «سلسلة الأحاديث الضعيفة والموضوعة» ٥: ٧٦».
وكل من يملك نسخة من كتاب «القواعد» يستطيع التأكد من ذلك إذا قابل ورق هذه الصفحات مع باقي ورق الكتاب، وكذلك إذا نظر كثرة الثقوب في خياطة الكتاب من جراء فك الخياطة السابقة وإعادة تخييطه وجمعه وتجليده من جديد! !
ومما يؤكد هذا سكوت «أبو غدة» المطبق عن إثارتها في «كلماته» ولو تمكن من جمع كل النسخ السابقة، لما تأخر عن اتهام صاحب «التوضيح» بشتى التهم كما هي عادة أبي غدة! !
