85 — Ahmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us. Abd Allah—that is, Ibn al-Mubārak—narrated to us. He said: Jarīr ibn Hāzim narrated to us, from Humayd ibn Hilāl, who said: Imrān ibn Husayn said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, “Modesty is wholly good.” Al-Alā ibn Ziyād then said, “We find in the books that some of it is weakness.” Imrān became extremely angry and said, “I relate to you from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and you confront me with your books!” The people said, “Al-Alā is a righteous man, and he is… and he is…”
