9 — Dāwūd ibn Amr al-Dabbī narrated to us: Yūsuf ibn Yaqūb al-Mājishūn narrated to us, from his father, from al-Araj, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abī Rāfi, from Alī ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—would say in his supplication: “O Allah, guide me to the best qualities of character, for none can guide me to the best of them but You. Turn the worst of them away from me, for none can turn the worst of them away from me but You.”
