68 — Khālid ibn Mirdās al-Sarrāj narrated to me. He said: “Abū ‘Aqīl narrated to us, from Hafs ibn ‘Uthmān, who said: ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb—may Allah be pleased with him—said, ‘Learn from poetry whatever will impart wisdom to you and guide you toward noble character.’”
