Makarim al-AkhlaqIbn Abi al-Dunya

67 — Muhammad ibn Abī Rajā’ al-Qurashī narrated to me. He said: “A man asked Abū al-‘Atāhiya to meet a need of his, saying, ‘Noble deeds are bound up with hardships; whoever seeks to perform a noble deed must patiently endure the hardship it entails.’ Abū al-‘Atāhiya admired his words and met his need.”
