467 — Muhammad ibn Abbād ibn Mūsā narrated to me, saying: Hishām ibn Muhammad narrated to me, from Khālid ibn Saīd, from his father, who said:
Iyās ibn al-Hutaya met me and said, “O Abū Uthmān, by Allah, al-Hutaya died leaving thirty thousand along one side of his tent, which your father, Saīd ibn al-Ās, had given to my father. That wealth vanished, while what we said in praise of you endured: what you gave us passed away.”
