459 — Abū Zayd al-Numayrī narrated to me, saying: Abū Āsim narrated to us, saying: Abū Ammār, a man of Banū Zuhra, informed me, saying: Ibn al-Zubayr passed by a group of Quraysh who were gathered together and asked, “What are you discussing?” They replied, “The affairs of the Jāhiliyya (pre-Islamic Age of Ignorance).” He said, “Leave that aside, for it is something Allah has done away with. But if you insist on doing so, then speak of Ibn Judān. By Allah, it was only after him that honor came to be shared among men.”
