442 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn and Muhammad ibn Abbād al-Ukli related to me, saying: Ishāq ibn Sulaymān al-Rāzī related to us, saying: I heard Abū Sinān relate on the authority of Habīb ibn Abī Thābit, who said:
“Abū Ayyūb al-Ansārī came to Basra and stayed with Ibn Abbās, who vacated his own house for him and said, ‘I shall certainly treat you as you treated the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace.’ He then asked, ‘How much debt do you owe?’ He replied, ‘Twenty thousand.’ So he gave him forty thousand and twenty slaves, and said, ‘Everything in the house is yours.’”
