437 — Muhammad ibn Sālih al-Qurashī related to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Umar al-Aslamī related to me, saying: Ibn Abī al-Zinād related to us, on the authority of his father, who said:
“I was at al-Rusāfa when Ibn Udhayna came to Hishām. When he entered his presence, Hishām asked him, ‘Are you not the one who says:
[al-Basīt meter]
Were I to sit still, it would come without wearying me?’
“He replied, ‘I did set out, though I knew that it was so.’”
Muhammad ibn Umar said: “Some of them related that, when he departed, Hishām sent four hundred dinars after him, while others said it was less. They differed concerning the amount.”
