420 — Al-Hārith ibn Muhammad al-Taymī and Abū Ja‘far al-Madīnī narrated to us, from ‘Alī ibn Muhammad al-Qurashī, from Ishāq ibn Yahyā ibn Talhah, from Mūsā ibn Talhah, who said:
“Talhah ibn ‘Ubayd Allah owed ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Affān—may Allah be pleased with him—fifty thousand. When ‘Uthmān went out to the mosque, Talhah said to him, ‘Your money is ready, so take it.’ He replied, ‘It is yours, Abū Muhammad, to aid you in your magnanimity.’”
