411 — Ishāq ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us, saying: Sufyān narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Atā ibn Yasār, that a group of Bedouins came. When the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—saw them coming through the mosque gate, he hurried to enter before they reached him, for he had nothing at hand. One of them caught up with him and yanked him. Later, the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—received something and gave it to them. They then came to him and said, “Exact retaliation from us.” He replied, “That was caused by my recoiling from you.”
