403 — Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Jabbār narrated to us: Thābit al-ʿĀbid narrated to us: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from al-Shaybānī, from Habīb, from Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr ibn Mutʿim, from his father, who said: One day, the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—made a distribution. He said: He then hurried away from the people, but they followed him, and his garment caught on a tree. He said, “Give me back my garment! Do you fear that I might be miserly? If what lay between those two were wealth, I would distribute it.”
