Makarim al-AkhlaqIbn Abi al-Dunya

391 — Alī ibn al-Jad narrated to us. He said: Zuhayr ibn Muāwiya narrated to us. He said: A client of Fātima bint al-Husayn narrated to me, from Fātima bint al-Husayn, from her father, al-Husayn ibn Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “One who asks has a right, even if he arrives on horseback.” Abū Bakr said: Al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Jarawī told me that the meaning of this hadith is: “The petitioner is asking for aid toward an indemnity he has undertaken.”
