321 — Ibn Jamīl narrated to us: Abd Allah narrated to us: Bashīr ibn Salmān narrated to us, from Mujāhid, who said: We were with Abd Allah ibn Amr while a young servant of his was skinning a sheep. He said, “Young man, when you have finished, begin with our Jewish neighbor.” He repeated this three times. A man among those present said to him, “How often you mention the Jew!” He replied, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, enjoining us to treat the neighbor well until we thought—or came to believe—that he would make him an heir.”
