312 — Muhammad related to me. He said: Zakariyyā ibn Adī related to us. He said: al-Salt ibn Bistām al-Taymī related to us, on the authority of his father, who said:
“I saw Talha ibn Musarrif emerging from a narrow alley in al-Taym.” I asked, “Where has Talha come from?” They replied, “He visits the mother of Umāra ibn Umayr and treats her kindly by providing for her, clothing her, and giving her gifts.” He said, “This was some ten-odd years after Umāra’s death.” He added, “Umāra’s mother was a non-Arab woman.”
