3 — Saīd ibn Yahyā al-Qurashī narrated to us: My father narrated to us, from Mālik ibn Mighwal, from Muallā, from Mujāhid, from Ibn Umar, who said: I came to the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—as one of a group of ten. A man from the Ansār then came to him and asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who are the wisest and noblest of people?” He replied, “Those who remember death most often and prepare for it most earnestly. They are the truly wise; they have attained the honor of this world and the dignity of the Hereafter.”
