276 — Suwayd ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Sālih ibn Mūsā narrated to us, from Abū Hāzim, from Sahl ibn Saʿd al-Sāʿidī, who said: One day, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr: “What will become of you when you are left among the dregs of humanity, whose covenants and trusts have fallen into disorder, and who have become divided and ended up like this?”—and he interlaced his fingers. He replied, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “Act upon what you recognize as right and leave what you find objectionable. Beware of fickleness in Allah’s religion. Concern yourself with your own affairs and leave the affairs of the general populace alone.”
