Abū Bakr said:

255 — It has reached me from Abū Hammām al-Sakūnī, who said: I heard al-Ashjaʿī say: “We were with Sufyān al-Thawrī when his son Saʿīd approached. Sufyān said, ‘Do you see this son of mine? I have never treated him harshly. Indeed, he sometimes calls me while I am performing a voluntary prayer, and I interrupt it for his sake.’”
