252 — Ibn Jamīl narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿĪsā al-Thaqafī narrated to us, from Yazīd, the client of al-Munbaʿith, from Abū Hurayra, from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—who said:

“Learn enough about your lineage to maintain your ties of kinship, for maintaining ties of kinship fosters affection within the family, increases wealth, and prolongs one’s life.”
