243 — Ismāʿīl ibn Zakariyyā narrated to us: Fudayl ibn ʿIyād narrated to us, from Fitr ibn Khalīfa, from Hammād, from Mujāhid, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “The one who maintains ties of kinship is not merely one who reciprocates. Rather, the one who truly maintains them is he who, when his relatives sever ties with him, continues to maintain ties with them.”
