225 — Abū Hammām narrated to me: Hajjāj ibn Nusayr narrated to us, from Qurra, from Muhammad, who said: A date palm in Medina could fetch a thousand. Yet Usāma ibn Zayd went to a date palm and cut it down for its heart. When he was questioned about this, he said, “My mother asked me for it because she craved it. There is nothing in this world that my mother asks me for and that lies within my power but that I will do it for her.”
