199 — Muhammad ibn Hassān ibn Fayrūz related to me, saying: Hajjāj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: al-Sarī ibn Yahyā narrated to us, from Ibn Sīrīn, that the Muslims came to a walled enclosure whose gate had been shut, with some polytheist men inside. Al-Barā ibn Mālik sat upon a shield and said, “Raise me on your spears and cast me among them.” They raised him on their spears over the wall. When they reached him, he had killed ten of them.
