189 — Al-Abbās ibn Hishām informed us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ziyād ibn Abd Allāh, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ishāq, who said: Al-Hajjāj ibn Yūsuf asked one of the sons of Amr ibn Umayya al-Damrī about Abd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr. He replied, “I do not know how to describe him to you, except to say that I have never seen skin upon flesh, flesh upon bone, or bone upon a heart like that of Abd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr.” May Allah be pleased with him.
١٨٩ - أَخْبَرَنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: سَأَلَ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ابْنًا لعَمْرِو بْنِ أَمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ: «مَا أَدْرِي كَيْفَ أَصِفُهُ لَكَ، إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أَرَ جِلْدًا عَلَى لَحْمٍ، وَلَا لَحْمًا عَلَى عَظْمٍ، وَلَا عَظْمًا عَلَى قَلْبٍ مِثْلَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ» رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
