19 — Abū Bakr al-Tamīmī narrated to us; he said: Ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us; he said: Yahyā ibn Ayyūb narrated to us; he said: Ubayd Allah ibn Zahr narrated to me, from Alī ibn Yazīd, from al-Qāsim, from Abū Umāma, from Uqba ibn Āmir, who said: One day, I met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and hastened to him. I took his hand—or he made the first move and took mine—and he said, “O Uqba, shall I tell you of the finest qualities possessed by the people of this world and the Hereafter? Maintain ties with those who cut you off, give to those who withhold from you, and pardon those who wrong you.”
