145 — ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us. He said: Nasr ibn Tarīf al-Bāhilī informed me; Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah narrated to us, from ʿUbayd ibn Saʿd, from Aisha, who said:
“No character trait was more abhorrent to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—than lying. The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—would learn that one of his Companions had lied, and the matter would not leave his heart until he knew that the man had offered fresh repentance to Allah—Mighty and Majestic—for it.”
