137 — Ahmad ibn Manī related to me: Marwān ibn Muāwiya narrated to us, from Mujammi ibn Yahyā al-Ansārī, from Mansūr ibn al-Mutamir, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Always seek the truth, even if you believe it will lead to ruin, for in it lies salvation. And avoid lying, even if you believe it will lead to salvation, for in it lies ruin.”
١٣٧ - حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، نا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «تَحَرَّوُا الصِّدْقَ وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمْ أَنَّ فِيهِ الْهَلَكَةَ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِ النَّجَاةَ، وَاجْتَنِبُوا الْكَذِبَ وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمْ أَنَّ فِيهِ النَّجَاةَ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِ الْهَلَكَةَ»
