133 — Al-Husayn ibn ʿAbd al-Rahmān narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Hamza, the judge of Damascus, said, “I was sitting in the gathering of Yazīd ibn al-Walīd al-Nāqis when a man related something to him that he knew was a lie. He said to him, ‘My good man, you are lying to yourself before you lie to your companion.’ By Allah, from then on we always knew that man to be circumspect.”
