126 — Ubayd Allah ibn Jarīr narrated to us. Hajjāj ibn Minhāl narrated to us. Abdullah ibn Umar al-Numayrī narrated to us, from Yūnus ibn Yazīd, who said: Al-Hakam ibn Abdullah narrated to me, from al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to a Jewish man, “Beware of lying about Allah and His Book. Whoever lies about Allah, Mighty and Majestic, His Book, and His messengers will take his seat in the Fire.”

The Jewish man replied, “O Abū al-Qāsim, I testify that you are indeed speaking the truth. We find in the Torah that lying is the gateway to shameful acts and the key to evil deeds.”
