43 – The judge Abū al-Qāsim informed us; Abū ʿAlī narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; and Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Taymī likewise related to me that a scholar—one of the Banū Hāshim clients—told them: Saʿīd ibn al-ʿĀṣ said, “If I withhold my gift from a man until I have made him stand there and beg, stiff as a stake, then what I give him afterward is not even the price of what I have taken from him.”
