Qada' al-Hawa'ij - Ibn Abi al-Dunya - (32)

18 – The judge Abu al-Qasim informed us; Abu ‘Ali narrated to us; ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ‘Amr Abu Ahmad al-Balkhi related to me; ‘Abd Allah ibn Mansur al-Harrani narrated to me, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Asfahani, from ‘Ata’, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared:

“Those who deal in kindness in this world will be the people of kindness in the Hereafter.”

Someone asked, “And how is that?”

He replied, “When the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah, exalted is He, will assemble the people of kindness and announce: ‘I have pardoned you for what passed among you, and I have shielded My servants from any claim you might have. So today grant that pardon to whomever you wish, that you may be the people of kindness in this world and the people of kindness in the Hereafter.’”

١٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاضِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْبَلْخِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصْفَهَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ» ، قِيلَ: وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ جَمَعَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَهْلَ الْمَعْرُوفِ فَقَالَ: قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكُمْ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِيكُمْ، وَصَانَعْتُ عَنْكُمْ عِبَادِي، فَهِبُوهَا الْيَوْمَ لِمَنْ شِئْتُمْ؛ لِتَكُونُوا أَهْلَ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَأَهْلَ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ "
