17 – The judge Abu al-Qasim informed us; Abu ‘Ali narrated to us; ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; my father—may Allah have mercy on him—and Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd Allah both said: Hushaym narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyib, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared:
“The pinnacle of intelligence, after faith in Allah, is to show thoughtful consideration toward people. The people of kindness in this world will be the people of kindness in the Hereafter, and the people of wrongdoing in this world will be the people of wrongdoing in the Hereafter.”
١٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاضِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ﵀، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «رَأْسُ الْعَقْلِ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ مُدَارَاةُ النَّاسِ، وَأَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ، وَأَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»
