115 – The judge Abū al-Qāsim informed us; Abū ʿAlī narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Abū Bakr al-Shaybānī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAffān narrated to me; Shuʿayb ibn Ḥarb narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Mujīb, from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from his grandfather, who traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ:
“No believer brings happiness to another believer without Allah creating from that happiness an angel who worships Him, glorifies Him, and affirms His oneness. When that believer is laid in his lahd (grave-niche), the joy he once imparted comes to him and says: ‘Do you not recognize me?’ He asks, ‘Who are you?’ It replies: ‘I am the joy you brought to so-and-so. Today I shall keep you company in your solitude, coach you with your proof, make you stand firm with the steadfast word, testify for you at the Gathering, intercede for you with your Lord, and show you your place in Paradise.’”
