86 — ‘Abdullāh narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far al-Warkānī narrated to me: Abū Ma‘shar—meaning Najīh al-Madanī—informed us, from Muhammad ibn Qays, who said: I heard Sa‘īd ibn Zayd ibn ‘Amr ibn Nufayl say, “I bear witness that nine are in Paradise.” He said:
“We were on a rock at Uhud when it shook. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Be still, for upon you are only a prophet, a man of utmost truthfulness, or a martyr.’”
On the rock were the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Abū Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthmān, ‘Alī, al-Zubayr, Talhah, ‘Abd al-Rahmān ibn ‘Awf, and Sa‘d ibn Abī Waqqās. Sa‘īd ibn Zayd omitted himself, though he too was on it.
٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَرْكَانِيُّ قَالَ: أنا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ يَعْنِي نَجِيحًا الْمَدَنِيَّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ تِسْعَةً فِي الْجَنَّةِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ بِأُحُدٍ فَتَحَرَّكَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «اهْدَئِي، فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكِ نَبِيٌّ، أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ، أَوْ شَهِيدٌ» ، وَكَانَ عَلَى الصَّخْرَةِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرُ، وَعُثْمَانُ، وَعَلِيٌّ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ، وَطَلْحَةُ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، وَتَرَكَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ نَفْسَهُ، وَكَانَ عَلَيْهَا.
