85 — ‘Abdullāh narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Abān narrated to me: Muhammad ibn Ismā‘īl ibn Abī Fudayk narrated to us, from Mūsā ibn Ya‘qūb ibn ‘Abdullāh ibn Wahb ibn Zam‘ah, from ‘Umar ibn Sa‘īd, from ‘Abd al-Rahmān ibn Humayd, from his father, who reported that Sa‘īd ibn Zayd narrated to him among a group of men that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Ten are in Paradise: Abū Bakr is in Paradise, ‘Umar is in Paradise, ‘Alī is in Paradise, ‘Uthmān is in Paradise, and al-Zubayr is in Paradise, as are Talhah, ‘Abd al-Rahmān, Abū ‘Ubaydah ibn ‘Abdullāh—meaning Ibn al-Jarrāh—and Sa‘d ibn Abī Waqqās.”
He named these nine, and the men said, “We adjure you by Allah, Abū al-A‘war: are you the tenth?” He replied, “Since you have adjured me by Allah: Abū al-A‘war is in Paradise” ⦗116⦘.
