82 — My father said: Wakī‘ also narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Husayn and Mansūr, from Hilāl, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd. Wakī‘ said: Sufyān also said: From Husayn, from Hilāl, from Ibn Zālim, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd. Wakī‘ said: Mansūr did not narrate it to him from Hilāl, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd.
Abū ‘Abd al-Rahmān said: All these narrators said: From Husayn, from Hilāl, from ‘Abdullāh ibn Zālim, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd, who said: We were with the Prophet ﷺ on Hirā’, and he said:
“Be still, Hirā’, for upon you there is none but a prophet, a man of utmost truthfulness, or a martyr.”
He said: He was asked, “Who are they?” He replied, “Abū Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Alī, ‘Uthmān, Talhah, al-Zubayr, Sa‘d, and Ibn ‘Awf.” He said: He was then asked, “Who is the tenth?” He replied, “I am,” meaning himself.
