70 — Abd Allāh narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us: Shu‘ba narrated to us, from Abū Ishāq, from Abū ‘Ubayda, from Abd Allāh, who said:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was praying and said, “Ask, and you will be given, O Ibn Umm ‘Abd.”

‘Umar said: “Abū Bakr and I hurried to him, but Abū Bakr reached him before me. Whenever we raced to do something good, Abū Bakr always preceded me.”

He said: “Among the supplications I almost never omit is: O Allah, I ask You for bliss that never fades, joy that never ends, and the companionship of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the highest part of Paradise, the Garden of Eternity.”
