63 — ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Salama ibn Shabīb narrated to me, saying: Marwān ibn Muhammad al-Tātarī narrated to us, saying: ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar al-‘Umarī narrated to us, from Nāfi‘, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said:

“During the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we did not disagree that the caliph after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would be Abū Bakr, that the caliph after Abū Bakr would be ‘Umar, and that the caliph after ‘Umar would be ‘Uthmān.”
