51 — ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Abū Kurayb al-Hamdānī, Muhammad ibn al-‘Alā’, narrated to me, saying: Zayd ibn al-Hubāb narrated to us, from ‘Umar ibn Sa‘īd ibn Abī Husayn, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Dhakwān, the freedman of ‘Ā’ishah, who reported:

A small casket containing jewels was brought from Iraq. ‘Umar asked the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “Do you permit me to send it to ‘Ā’ishah because of the Messenger of Allah’s love for her?”

He sent it to her, and she opened it and asked: “What is this?”

They replied: “‘Umar has sent it to you.”

She said: “What riches have been opened up to Ibn al-Khattāb after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!”
