49 — ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Hadiyyah ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhāb narrated to me, saying: Ahmad ibn Yūnus narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Talhah narrated to us, from Abū ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Hakam, from al-Hakam ibn Jahl, who said: I heard ‘Alī say:

“If anyone ranks me above Abū Bakr and ‘Umar, I will flog him with the prescribed punishment for slander.”
