410 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Wāqid narrated to me, saying: Sharīk narrated to us, from Abū Hayyah al-Hamdānī, who said: I heard ʿAbd Khayr say: I heard ʿAlī ibn Abī Tālib say:
“The best of this community after its Prophet was Abū Bakr, then ʿUmar. Then, after them, we did things concerning which Allah will do as He wills.”
٤١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ قثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ خَيْرٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَقُولُ: كَانَ أَفْضَلَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ثُمَّ عُمَرُ، ثُمَّ أَحْدَثْنَا بَعْدَهُمْ أَحْدَاثًا يَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُ.
