389 – ‘Abdullāh narrated to us: Abū ‘Abd al-Rahmān ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar al-Qurashī narrated to us: Ibn Numayr narrated to us: Ismā‘īl ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh, who said:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “What an excellent servant of Allah Abū Bakr is! What an excellent servant of Allah ‘Umar is! What an excellent servant of Allah Abū ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrāh is! What an excellent servant of Allah Ubayy ibn Ka‘b is! What an excellent servant of Allah Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal is! What an excellent servant of Allah Thābit ibn Qays ibn Shammās is!”

He mentioned six of the Ansār (Helpers) and three of the Muhājirūn (Emigrants). I remembered three of the Ansār, but forgot the other three.
