348 — ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: Suwayd ibn Sa‘īd narrated to me: Yūnus ibn Abī al-Ya‘fūr narrated to us, from ‘Awn ibn Abī Juhayfah, from his father, who said:
I was beside ‘Umar after he had passed away, as he lay covered with his cloth. ‘Alī came, uncovered his face, and said, “May Allah have mercy on you, Abū Hafs. By Allah, after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, no one remained whose record of deeds I would rather meet Allah with than yours.”
