36 - ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl narrated to me, saying: Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn A‘yan narrated to us, saying: Mūsā—meaning Ibn A‘yan—narrated to us, saying: Ishāq—meaning Ibn Rāshid—narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, from Sa‘īd ibn al-Musayyib, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“No Muslim’s wealth has benefited me more than the wealth of Abū Bakr. With it he freed Bilāl, and he would dispose of Abū Bakr’s wealth as a man disposes of his own.”
