Fadail al-Sahabah li-Ahmad ibn HanbalAhmad Ibn Hanbal

286 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: Suwayd ibn Sa‘īd told me, from Abū al-Muhayyāh, who said: A man told me:

I set out on a journey, and with us was a man who reviled Abū Bakr and ‘Umar. We told him to stop, but he would not. He went out to relieve himself, and al-dubur—that is, wasps—swarmed over him. He cried for help, and we came to his aid, but they attacked us until we abandoned him. They did not leave him alone until they had torn him apart.
